Brown Ale Beer Bread featuring
Jamieson XBA American Brown Ale
Ingredients
3 cups of plain flour sifted
2.5 tsp of baking powder
1.5 tsp of bi–carb soda
1.5 tsp salt 1.5 tbls sugar 80g melted butter 1 X 330ml bottle of Jamieson XBA American Brown Ale
Method
Pre-heat the oven to 185°c
Sieve flour, baking powder & bi-carb into a large mixing bowl stir in salt & sugar
Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients slowly pour in melted butter followed by the beer while mixing until the bread begins to come together tip out onto a lightly floured surface and begin to kneed
If the dough is too sticky add more flour - kneed for 5 minutes until the dough holds shape
Grease & flour a baking tray and place bread onto the tray ready to bake - alternatively place into a greased loaf pan
Bake for approximately 35-45mins depending on the oven
Serve warm with lashings of butter! Awesome in a Cheese Toastie or drizzle with Maple Syrup...
NOTE: You can use alternative beer styles however the darker beers will give a richer flavour!

This bread works well as either a sweet or savoury bread Add some cheese & fresh herbs or a touch more sugar & some dried fruit Try different styles of beer for differing flavours
You can replace the beer with soda water
You can use self - raising flour in place of the plain flour, baking powder & bi-carb soda
