The High Country Food Company is a private chef and bespoke catering company servicing Melbourne and regional Victoria. 

On completion of his apprenticeship, Ben embarked upon a 5 year journey working at a host of high profile establishments in London whilst travelling extensively throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

While Ben's travels gave him an insight into world food and culture, his time in London provided the opportunity to work in top tier kitchens and to be involved in a number of high profile events including film premier's, product launches, festivals, exhibitions, celebrity weddings, birthdays and events.​


Upon returning to Western Australia, Ben progressed through a number of senior roles in some of Perth's best known venue's before relocating to Victoria in 2012 where, drawing upon the considerable knowledge and experience gained over the years of work and travel, the foundations were laid and his own private catering agency was built in Melbourne, coined The Culinarian.

As fate would have it, Ben happened to meet his wife Melissa in Mansfield soon after. He relocated taking on the Head Chef role at what was then, The Deck on High, where they worked side by side.

Ben then launched his own enterprise, The High Country Food Company, to practice his craft in Mansfield, Melbourne and surrounds, with Melissa providing design services. They have since started their family and little Corben enjoys coming along for the ride!

While business has thrived, times are tough with COVID-19, but we are adapting and are here for the long haul.
